From university research to a commercial biotech platform.
YUN grew out of research at the University of Antwerp, where bioengineers, microbiologists and pharmaceutical scientists set out to explore a different approach to microbiome health: working with beneficial bacteria rather than simply eliminating them.
Together with pharmacist and entrepreneur Tom Verlinden, that research evolved into YUN and ultimately YUN Probiotherapy™ – a proprietary platform that makes live probiotics practical in stable, everyday formulations.
Today, YUN continues to combine R&D with commercial application, working with leading Belgian research universities including the University of Antwerp, KU Leuven and Ghent University while bringing Probiotherapy solutions to international markets.
